Quick answer
How to beat Colony Flow Level 1
Work from the outside of the star toward its center, then clear the top. The safe color order is orange β yellow β white β orange β white β yellow β orange. Only load a block when its matching tiles have a visible path from the nest.
Board overview
Read the three-layer star
Level 1 is a tutorial board shaped like a pixel star. Orange forms the outside shell, yellow sits in the middle, and white makes the compact center. Because ants travel from the nest below the picture, the outer layers must open before the inner colors become useful.
Your goal is to remove every tile without filling all five waiting slots. Treat each move as a path-opening decision: a good block clears tiles now and exposes the color needed next.
Step-by-step solution
Colony Flow Level 1 walkthrough
Let active ants finish opening their lane before starting the next stage. The checkpoint under each move tells you what the board should look like before continuing.
Open the orange shell
Play: Tap the exposed Orange 14 block first.
Why now: Orange is the only color with a clean lane from the nest at the start, so this move opens the lower-right edge of the star.
Checkpoint: Wait until the first orange group finishes and you can see a route into the yellow band.
Start the yellow middle layer
Play: Send the two Yellow 15 blocks into open waiting slots.
Why now: The gap in the orange border now lets yellow ants enter the lower and left sides of the middle layer.
Checkpoint: Both yellow blocks should be counting down; keep at least two slots free.
Reach the white center
Play: Add the White 4 block after the lower yellow tiles have moved.
Why now: White is safe only after yellow creates a lane to the center. Playing it too early leaves a blocked block in your queue.
Checkpoint: White ants should travel directly into the core instead of waiting at the nest.
Remove the left orange wing
Play: Release the next Orange 14 block while yellow and white continue working.
Why now: The left edge is now exposed, and clearing it widens the path toward the top half of the star.
Checkpoint: The lower orange outline should be mostly gone before you add another inner color.
Finish the white core
Play: Use the remaining White 4 block when the last center tiles are visible.
Why now: The center is fully reachable now, so the short white block can clear without occupying a slot for long.
Checkpoint: After this move, only yellow and orange should remain on the board.
Clear the upper yellow band
Play: Play the next available yellow block.
Why now: With the center gone, yellow has an uninterrupted route to the tiles below the star's top point.
Checkpoint: Let yellow finish until the final orange cap is isolated.
Close with orange
Play: Release the remaining orange blocks from the tray.
Why now: Every lane to the top is open, so orange can reach the last border tiles without creating a queue jam.
Checkpoint: Do not add another colorβthe level ends as soon as the final orange tile disappears.
Winning strategy
Keep the queue productive
- Work outside-in until the white core has a direct lane.
- Keep at least one waiting slot empty while multiple colors are active.
- Use the visible routeβnot the block numberβto decide whether a color is safe.
Avoid a restart
Common Level 1 mistakes
- Loading white before the yellow middle layer opens.
- Filling slots just because a block is exposed in the tray.
- Rushing the final orange blocks before yellow clears the upper band.
If your board looks different
Match the shape before the level number
Game updates can move puzzles between level numbers. Compare your board with the orange, yellow, and white star in the image above. If the shape differs, use the video as a visual check and follow the same rule on your board: clear the closest reachable layer, wait for a new lane, and only then load the next color.

What You're Up Against
Level 1 paints Star with 177 tiles across 3 colors, split into 18 cubes in the tray. You have 5 waiting slots and one nest hole.
- Orange: 100 tiles β cubes of 16, 14, 12, 10, 10, 10, 9, 8, 6, 5
- Yellow: 65 tiles β cubes of 16, 11, 11, 10, 7, 5, 5
- White: 12 tiles β cubes of 12
Step-by-Step Solution
This loading order was computed from the web level layout with a reachability-first strategy: always feed the ants colors they can actually reach, and never let all 5 slots fill with blocked colors.
Load the cubes in this order, letting the ants work between picks. Unless noted, a cube's tiles are fully reachable when you send it.
- Send the Orange 16 cube.
- Send the Orange 14 cube.
- Send the Orange 12 cube.
- Send the Yellow 11 cube.
- Send the Yellow 11 cube.
- Send the Orange 10 cube.
- Send the Orange 10 cube.
- Send the Yellow 10 cube.
- Send the Orange 10 cube.
- Send the Orange 9 cube.
- Send the Orange 8 cube.
- Send the Yellow 7 cube.
- Send the Orange 6 cube.
- Send the Orange 5 cube.
- Send the Yellow 5 cube.
- Send the Yellow 5 cube.
- Send the Yellow 16 cube. Only ~11 of its 16 tiles are open at this point β park it in a slot and let the surrounding colors clear the rest of the way.
- Send the White 12 cube. Only ~10 of its 12 tiles are open at this point β park it in a slot and let the surrounding colors clear the rest of the way.
Finish without boosters for 3 stars and bonus coins. If the board jams anyway, a Shuffle or Vacuum booster is the cheapest way out.
